Gauze’s Agar Medium No.2 (Modified) – Selective Medium for Actinomycete Isolation, 250g

Gauze’s Agar Medium No.2, Modified is a selective culture medium designed for the isolation and cultivation of Actinomycetes. With agar as the solidifying agent and carefully balanced nutrients and vitamins, this medium supports effective differentiation and stable growth of actinomycete strains.

Complete Formula (per liter):

• Sodium Chloride (NaCl): 0.5 g

• Tryptone (Pancreatic Digest of Casein): 0.3 g

• Glucose: 1.0 g

• Peptone: 0.5 g

• Vitamin B1 (Thiamine): 0.5 mg

• Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): 0.5 mg

• Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine): 0.5 mg

• Nicotinic Acid: 0.5 mg

• Inositol: 0.5 mg

• Calcium Pantothenate: 0.5 mg

• Biotin: 0.25 mg

• p-Aminobenzoic Acid (PABA): 0.5 mg

• Agar: 20.0 g

• Final pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Instructions for Use:

1. Dissolve 22.3 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until fully dissolved.

3. Dispense into suitable containers.

4. Sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes.

5. Allow to cool and solidify before inoculation.
