
ISP Medium 2 (Yeast Extract Malt Extract Agar) – 250g for Streptomyces Cultivation
ISP Medium 2 (Yeast Extract Malt Extract Agar) is a dehydrated culture medium formulated for the cultivation and identification of Streptomyces species. It is commonly used in microbiological laboratories as part of the International Streptomyces Project (ISP).
Composition per liter:
Malt extract: 10.0 g
Yeast extract: 4.0 g
Dextrose: 4.0 g
Agar: 20.0 g
Final pH: 7.3 ± 0.2 (25℃)
Preparation:
Dissolve 38.0 g of the medium in 1 L of deionized water or 30% seawater. Boil to dissolve completely, distribute into containers, and sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes or at 115℃ for 30 minutes. Pour into plates and allow to solidify before use.
