Product Application:
Enterobacter Sakazakii Chromogenic Medium is designed for the rapid detection and differentiation of Enterobacter sakazakii from other bacteria. This medium provides clear colony color identification, making it suitable for microbiological laboratories, quality control, and clinical analysis.

Medium Formula (per liter):

  • Tryptone – 15.0 g

  • Soy peptone – 5.0 g

  • Sodium chloride – 5.0 g

  • Ferric ammonium citrate – 1.0 g

  • Sodium thiosulfate – 1.0 g

  • Sodium deoxycholate – 1.0 g

  • 5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-α-D-glucopyranoside – 0.1 g

  • Agar – 15.0 g

  • pH 7.3 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Instructions for Use:

  1. Weigh 4.31 g of the medium and dissolve in 100 ml of distilled or deionized water.

  2. Heat to boiling until fully dissolved.

  3. Sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes, mix well.

  4. Cool to approx. 50℃ and pour into plates for use.

Colony Characteristics:

  • Enterobacter sakazakii: Blue to green colonies

  • Escherichia coli: Yellow colonies

  • Salmonella: Colorless or with black centers

  • Staphylococcus aureus: No growth
