Application

RCVBN Agar Medium is used for the cultivation of photosynthetic bacteria. It provides a nutrient-balanced solid medium suitable for microbiological and environmental research.

Composition (per liter)

• DL-Malic acid – 4.0 g

• (NH4)2SO4 – 1.0 g

• KH2PO4 – 1.36 g

• K2HPO4·3H2O – 1.24 g

• EDTA – 0.02 g

• MgSO4·7H2O – 0.12 g

• CaCl2·2H2O – 0.075 g

• Vitamin B1 – 0.001 g

• Niacin – 0.001 g

• Biotin – 0.000015 g

• H3BO3 – 0.0028 g

• ZnSO4·7H2O – 0.00024 g

• MnSO4·H2O – 0.0016 g

• Cu(NO3)2·3H2O – 0.00004 g

• Na2MoO4·2H2O – 0.00075 g

• Agar – 12.0 g

• pH 6.9 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Instructions for Use

1. Weigh 19.82 g of the medium and dissolve in 1 L of distilled or deionized water with stirring.

2. Adjust pH to 6.8–7.0 at room temperature using NaOH solution.

3. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until completely dissolved.

4. Dispense into containers and sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

5. The medium is ready for use.
