Starky Na2S2O3 Agar Medium 250g Thiosulfate Agar Culture Medium for Sulfur Oxidizing Bacteria

Starky Na₂S₂O₃ Agar Medium is designed for the cultivation of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. The formulation includes agar as a solidifying agent and contains carefully measured ingredients for consistent microbial growth in laboratory applications.

Composition (per liter):

• Ammonium sulfate: 0.3g

• Potassium dihydrogen phosphate: 3.5g

• Magnesium sulfate: 0.5g

• Calcium chloride dihydrate: 0.33g

• Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate: 0.018g

• Sodium thiosulfate: 10.0g

• Agar: 15.0g

• Final pH: 6.0 ± 0.2 (25°C)

Preparation Instructions:
Dissolve 29.65g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water. Heat to boiling and maintain for at least 1 minute to achieve complete dissolution. Dispense into containers and sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes. Mix well before use. A small amount of insoluble residue may remain after sterilization.
