Cellulose Decomposing Microorganisms Medium is a specialized microbiological medium designed for the isolation and identification of cellulose-degrading bacteria. The medium contains Congo Red, which allows visualization of cellulose hydrolysis; cellulose-degrading bacteria form a red clearance zone around colonies. This medium is ideal for environmental microbiology, microbial ecology studies, and screening of cellulolytic bacteria.

Key Features:

  • For isolation and identification of cellulose-degrading bacteria.

  • Contains Congo Red to indicate cellulose hydrolysis.

  • Supports microbial growth for environmental and laboratory research.

  • Sterilization ready: Easy to prepare for autoclaving.

  • Long shelf life: Stable for up to 3 years at room temperature.

Instructions for Use:
Dissolve 44.2g of Cellulose Decomposing Microorganisms Medium in 1L of distilled or deionized water. Boil for at least 1 minute to dissolve agar. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes or at 115°C for 30 minutes. After sterilization, shake vigorously, pour into petri dishes, and allow to solidify. Note: cellulose is insoluble in water, some residue may remain.

Storage: Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Shelf life: 3 years.
